It all started in the beginning when Cody and I first got together. We both discovered that we loved Yoo-Hoo's and Rolo's, and those two were just as good together as we were. Cody's way of courting me was surprising me with the Rolo candy in random, sweet places. I would get off of work and find Rolo's on my windshield wipers, or tucked beside a napkin dispenser at the counter of my job. I was falling for him more and more with every bite of chocolate ;) !! He made it even sweeter when he would accompany it with a Yoo-Hoo! This gesture continued for awhile but of course with every relationship the courting comes to an end, and a relationship and life together begins. Therefore, the candy surprises became a little less as time went on, but our love continued to grow.
Two weeks prior:
Cody, Me, and my best friend Sabrina took a trip down to Orlando for Halloween Horror Nights, which is one of our favorite annual getaways! Before the festivities took place for the evening we went to The Florida Mall to browse around. Little did I know that I would find the ring that would become my engagement ring! I came across this beautiful vintage styled ring that completely stole my heart. Although I knew we were on vacation and not prepared to get a ring on such short notice (plus, the romantic side of Cody did not want me to be there when it was bought anyway) I sulked a bit, and walked away. A little sad, but partially understanding ;) Once we returned home I had told everyone I had found My Ring, however, I had no clue how to get back down to Orlando to get it! To sooth my pouting, Cody told me to take off a Sunday two weeks from then and we would go look at some more rings. I agreed, knowing that I was just going to have to be without it. Here is the catch: After walking out of Kay Jewelers in The Florida Mall, Cody snuck away as he was supposed to be using the restroom as I shopped, and purchased the ring. He hide it in his pocket the whole time, and proceeded to get it sized as soon as we made it home. Yes girls, he had to quietly deal with all of my pouting...what a man!
ENGAGED:
After picking up the ring from getting it sized, Cody could not wait to get it on my finger! After calling his mom and telling her that he was "gonna do it", he then called my father and asked for his permission. Of course, Daddy said yes :) He rushed over to my job, where I was cleaning up ready to get off. He walked through the doors and the first words out of my mouth were "Why in the WORLD are you so dressed up!?" He told me it was because he had a surprise. Well after having to talk me into putting a stop to my clean up, I walked over to him and seen that he had a Yoo-Hoo and pack of Rolo's! Being that he had not surprised me with that in some time, I was overwhelmed with excitement and gave him a huge hug! I took the "surprise" from his hands and turned around to set them on the counter...by the time I turned back around he was on ONE KNEE with THE RING! I was SO surprised! Of course, I said Yes! It was beyond perfect!
